LIT FEST POSTER
The challenge for this project was to craft an enthralling poster for the 2023 Neustadt Literature Festival, a beacon of global literary and cultural celebration. This artistic endeavor must encapsulate the essence of literature and reading, ensuring that the festival's literary core is unmistakably highlighted. The design must seamlessly integrate the essence of “literature” and “books,” particularly spotlighting the NSK Prize. Additionally, it’s imperative for the poster to exhibit versatility across various display settings.
OBJECTIVE
The objective was to forge a captivating and impactful digital banner that unmistakably broadcasts the festival's dedication to the realms of literature, books, and cultural exploration. This visual masterpiece will also spotlight Gene Luen Yang and his book American Born Chinese, the celebrated recipient of this year’s NSK Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature, marking him as a distinguished and thrilling figure in the literary world.

The poster's vision animates the magical journey of storytelling through the medium of books. A visually striking stack of books serves as the foundation of the limitless growth of knowledge, life, and creativity that reading ignites. Featuring a bonsai tree, the design pays homage to the virtues of harmony, balance, and patience, revered in Chinese culture. The color palette is deliberately vibrant and inviting, designed to captivate the imagination of the Neustadt Lit Fest’s youthful and spirited audience.
